Hi there! My name is Sadia Nasrin Tisha and I am excited to be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Williams and Dr. Sanorita Dey. My primary area of research is Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Human Computer Interaction(HCI). I recently completed my Master's degree in Computer Science from Baylor University and completed my Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Brac University , where I had the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of Machine Learning and HCI. This experience has ignited my passion for research and driven me to pursue my current goals.

- Working on a project titled “Increasing Visual Literacy With Collaborative Foraging: Annotation Curation and Critique”, aimed at enhancing students’ Visual Information Literacy (VIL) through an open-source visual curation and annotation platform. This platform is intended for collaborative use, allowing students to search for, curate, and critique misleading charts and graphs, thereby improving their critical evaluation skills and VIL.

- Worked on detecting and tracking invasive species from water sample videos and used self-supervised, pre-trained convo- lutional neural networks and data normalization techniques in PyTorch to improve the classification accuracy up to 97% of underwater organism imagery.
